Creating a business case for a better road
Bradfield City Centre in the Western Parkland City will be Australia’s newest city for the 22nd Century, delivering significant economic opportunity for residents in Western Sydney and up to 20,000 new, long-term high-quality jobs.
Badgerys Creek Road is the key north-south link for the city and is required to provide the infrastructure to support the new Western Sydney International Airport, the Rapid Electric Bus Network and Sydney Metro. The road was unsuitable for future traffic growth or rapid bus public transport and had no provision for green active transport.
Our role
MBB were engaged to develop a Strategic Business Case to seek funding from the WestInvest Program for an upgrade of the road corridor. Given the tight time frames, there was pressure to deliver a sound business case in a constrained time period.
Our services
Development of the business case involved
MBB provided rapid mobilisation and development of a compliant business case aligned to WestInvest and NSW Treasury guidelines. The business case was completed in less than one month and received no material queries from WestInvest or NSW Treasury upon submission.
In mapping the investment logic, MBB clearly articulated links between Government priorities, WestInvest key focus areas, Western Parkland City precinct outcomes and the drivers for this project.
