Land 400 Armoured Vehicles (QLD)

Helping modernise the Australian Defence Force’s land capabilities

The LAND 400 projects are part of the Australian Defence Force’s efforts to modernise its armoured vehicle capabilities. The projects focused on acquiring light armoured vehicles to replace the Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) to provide the Australian Army with a new fleet of reconnaissance and surveillance vehicles.

Phase 2 involved a study into the benefits of acquiring the Boxer 8×8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV) and included:

  • 211 vehicles
  • A range of additional modules and support systems including training systems and technology
  • Replacement of the in-service capability provided by the ASLAV.

The scope of works includes multi-disciplinary engineering design and construction of brownfield and greenfield facilities.

    • Cost control and cost estimation
    • Forecasting procedures
    • Risk and contingency management.

Our services

We developed the entire project controls suite, all tailored to meet the requirements for the delivery of a Defence project and meeting Commonwealth requirements. This included:

  • Developing a collaborative partnership with the client to identify all project deliverables including the development of a full suite of project controls
  • Providing specialists with the requisite defence experience which allowed faster, streamlined security clearance and approvals of personnel
  • Completing a thorough review of the project status prior to implementing a structure
  • Developing and executing a staged execution plan which assisted the client in transitioning the project controls processes with minimum disruption.

Works were completed on time and to plan. We also provided additional artifacts for future use and worked closely with the Defence team to ensure they had a strong working knowledge of the new processes.
